Toy Lending Library : For Children of All Ages
Here is Why
A child with a disability may need modifications or adapted toys in order to interact with the environment intellectually. Toys are available for children with developmental delays, special needs or physical disabilities.
Play is a significant key to positive development. Research has demonstrated that early intervention using play techniques greatly influences a child's learning capacity. Toys provide the tools for growth.
Family Role
The family holds a key in the child's play development. A visit from our Toy Lending Specialist will provide modeling for parents by the Specialist. They will share information and knowledge about the child in order to provide the most appropriate play opportunities. The Specialist will discuss your child's abilities, interests and likes to assist in selecting the toys that will benefit your child the most.
How it Works
--Children with any disability or special needs are eligible. There is no cost for this program.
--Our Toy Lending Specialist covers all nine counties served by Cerebral Palsy of Mideast Wisconsin.
--You decide when you feel your child is finished with the toys. A call is placed to the specialist and a time is set up for the toys to be picked up, also if you would like new toys they can be dropped off. We ask that the toy be returned clean and in good condition.
--Donations to this program are always appreciated. Cash to purchase new toys or gently used toys and equipment are accepted any time. A receipt will be given for tax purposes.
